I am a complete beginner to yoga, which class should I attend?

All our classes cater for beginners unless otherwise specified. Our classes at our Home Studio in South Woodford are particularly great for complete beginners as these are small group sessions of 4 people maximum, so the sessions will be tailored to you and the individuals in the class.

We aim to offer a safe and supportive environment for you to explore yoga, at your own pace and hope that you will enjoy the learning process and journey.

What styles of yoga do you offer?

We offer various styles of yoga from gentle flow, slow flow, vinyasa flow, hatha flow, yoga pilates fusion, chair yoga, restorative yoga, yin yoga as well as yoga nidra and meditation. 

Our Sunday Classes at Woodford County High School, is a slow flow yoga which caters for all levels, including beginners. Our Tuesday Classes at Woodford County High School is a Pilates Yoga Fusion class, working on core strength but also relaxing stretches for a good night's sleep, also caters for all levels, including beginners. If there is a style of yoga or class time not on the timetable that you would like to be included, do contact us for requests. We regularly review our timetable and offerings and take into consideration requirements and requests that we receive.

What passes and packages do you offer for the classes?

Classes at Woodford County High School: We offer 5 class packages, 10 class packages as well as single sessions for our classes at Woodford County High School. There is an expiry date of 7 weeks on the 5 class package and an expiry date of 12 weeks on the 10 class package which means you can miss up to 2 weeks (with 24 hours notice). Separate packages are required for the Sunday and Tuesday classes if you wish to attend both. Alternatively, you can purchase single sessions for each class that you attend.

How do I book a class?

To book a class please email info@yogamindbalance.com to book. Payment will be required by bank transfer.

What’s the cancellation policy if I am no longer able to attend a booked class?

Classes at Woodford County High School: There is a 24 hour cancellation policy for classes booked at Woodford County High School. Please email info@yogamindbalance.com to cancel your booking. Cancellations made with at least 24 hours can be re-scheduled for the following week. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice can not be re-scheduled and the session will be lost.

We reserve the right to suspend your pass, with no refund if you do not show up to a booked class without cancellation.

I have a specific medical condition, is yoga suitable for me?

If you have any medical conditions and you are not sure if yoga is suitable for you, please consult your doctor or health professional.

If your doctor or health professional has advised that you can practice yoga, we suggest you try a Private 1-1 session with us, so we can discuss and work through any adaptions that may be required to cater to your condition and needs. There are various ways to adapt yoga postures including using props such as blocks and a chair so that everyone can do them. We aim to make yoga accessible for everyone and can adapt yoga postures to make it beneficial for you. We currently have an Intro Offer of £35 for the first 1 hour private 1-1 session.

You can also try one of our classes at our South Woodford Home Studio as these are small group sessions of 4 people max, so we will be able to tailor the sessions more to your needs and requirements.

Do you offer pregnancy yoga classes?

We do not offer pregnancy yoga classes, however if you have been practicing yoga regularly before your pregnancy and have been advised by your doctor or health professional that you can still practice yoga during your pregnancy, you are welcome to attend our classes where we will advise you of any modifications required.

Can I bring my child to take part in classes with me?

You are welcome to bring your teenage child with you to our classes at Woodford County High School and both take part in the yoga session. Please do let us know at the time of booking.

Do you offer yoga classes for children?

We currently do not offer yoga classes for children only. We do offer Private sessions for Children and Private sessions for parents and children. Email info@yogamindbalance.com for more info and to discuss.

What do I need to bring to class?

You will need to bring your own mat to class and a bottle of water. We also advise you to bring extra layer of clothing in case you need it during the start of class when warming up and end of class for relaxation. If you have your own props, you are welcome to bring these with you to use in class.

What should I wear to class?

You can wear any comfortable clothing that you can move freely in; T-shirts, vest tops, long-sleeved tops with leggings or loose jogging bottoms or shorts.
